McKinney corridors to watch
AE-heavy corridors:
- ✓Wilson Creek: north-south through central McKinney. Affects historic downtown, parts of Eldorado, and Stonebridge Ranch tributaries.
- ✓East Fork Trinity River: McKinney's eastern boundary. Floodway designation - more restrictive than AE.
- ✓Honey Creek: northeast McKinney, narrow but elevated risk.

Floodway is more restrictive than AE because it is the high-velocity channel during a flood event. New construction inside a floodway requires no-rise certification. If a McKinney listing is in or partially in a floodway, your build options are limited.
