Scam-Free Guarantee

If a property we rate "TruVerified" turns out to be a scam, we refund your subscription for the month it happened.

This is a limited service credit, not insurance. It is not a warranty of property condition, not a substitute for title insurance, escrow services, or your own due diligence, and not a regulated insurance or service-contract product. The full legal terms are at /legal/guarantee-terms.

The promise, in plain English

  • You search a DFW property on RemotePropView while logged in to a paid plan.
  • Our 6-layer Trust Score rates the listing as TruVerified (Excellent, 80+/100, with score-confidence at or above 80%).
  • You proceed to wire a deposit, sign a lease, or pay an application fee directly to the listing party.
  • It turns out to be fraudulent (the listing party was not the owner of record per the county appraisal district), and you have a sworn police report or FBI IC3 complaint identifying the same listing or counterparty.
  • We refund your subscription for the month of your search.

Why we can offer this

The TruVerified Trust Score is a 6-layer composite, not a single signal. To pass with an "Excellent" (80+) rating, a listing must clear all of these:

  • County record match - listing's owner, sq ft, bed/bath, year built match the appraisal district
  • Price sanity - rent or sale price falls within HUD FMR + comparable-sale range
  • Listing consistency - same address, photos, owner across multiple sources
  • Data source quality - underlying sources are fresh and authoritative
  • AI pattern analysis - language analysis catches scam-listing phrasing, urgency tactics, wire-transfer red flags (Realtor and TruReport tiers)
  • Code violations - city open-data records cross-checked across all 53 DFW cities (paid tiers)

Most fraudulent listings fail two or more layers immediately - mismatched owner, suspiciously low price, photo reverse-search hit, or scammy language patterns. The TruVerified rating is reserved for listings that clear all six with high score-confidence.

What's covered

  • Any DFW property page where the Trust Score badge displayed as TruVerified (Excellent, 80-100) with score-confidence at or above 80% at the time of your search. We keep a server-side snapshot of the exact score and layer details you saw.
  • Active subscribers (Basic, Realtor, or TruReport tier) and one-time TruReport SKU buyers, U.S. residents only.
  • Losses where the fraudulent listing, owner, or wire-transfer recipient was identified through a TruVerified RemotePropView property page: fake-landlord rental scams, owner misrepresentation, fake brokerage on the listing itself.

What's NOT covered

  • Properties where the Trust Score was below 80 at search time, OR was already flagged with a warning - the system told you something was off.
  • Properties where the score-confidence was below 80% (a layer was unavailable or your tier didn't include a layer that may have flagged the listing).
  • Disputes that aren't fraud: bad inspections, hidden defects, post-closing buyer's remorse.
  • Losses where you ignored RemotePropView's explicit warnings (e.g. flood-zone alert, multi-source price discrepancy flag, code-violation flag).
  • Free guest searches without a paid subscription or one-time TruReport purchase.
  • Wire fraud at closing where the title company, escrow agent, or attorney email was phished. RemotePropView verifies listings, not third-party closing communications. File with the FBI IC3 and your bank's fraud team for those incidents.
  • Listings you found on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or a third-party site that happened to reference an address you also viewed on RemotePropView. We stand behind listing data displayed on our property pages, not a duplicate posting elsewhere.
  • Indirect, consequential, or speculative losses (lost investment opportunity, emotional distress, legal fees beyond the police-report filing).
  • Claims older than 30 days from discovery, or older than 180 days from the date of the search that produced the TruVerified score.

How to file a claim

  1. Within 30 days of discovering the fraud (and no later than 180 days after the search), email [email protected] with: the property URL on RemotePropView, the date of your search, and a brief description.
  2. Attach: a sworn police report or FBI IC3 complaint identifying the listing or counterparty, your bank statement or wire confirmation showing the actual loss to the named fraudulent party, and any communication with the fraudulent party.
  3. We acknowledge within 2 business days and review within 7 business days. If approved, the subscription-month refund is processed within 14 business days.
  4. You agree to cooperate fully with our investigation (additional documents, affidavits if requested, government-ID verification before payment) and to assign subrogation rights up to the amount paid.
  5. Submission of a false or materially misleading claim voids the guarantee and may be reported to law enforcement.

Why this exists

DFW is one of the most-targeted U.S. metros for rental scams. Most platforms (Zillow, Realtor.com, Facebook Marketplace) leave verification to the user. We don't. The guarantee is the proof we're willing to put service credit behind our detection accuracy.
