Moving to DFW from Arizona?

How does the heat compare?

Phoenix hits 115°F+ but it is dry heat. DFW tops out at 100-105°F with more humidity. Most AZ transplants find DFW summers easier because temperatures are lower, even if humidity is higher. Both cities are fully air-conditioned.

Is water scarcity better in DFW?

Significantly. DFW gets 37 inches of rain annually and has large reservoir systems. Phoenix relies heavily on the Colorado River, which is under severe strain. Water is not a crisis-level concern in DFW.

The suburbs feel similar - what is different?

Both metros have master-planned suburban sprawl. DFW suburbs tend to have more trees, grass, and green space. HOA fees are comparable. DFW new construction is slightly cheaper per square foot than Phoenix/Chandler.
